What is the Claim feature?
Claim is a feature that allows you to Claim the $SWEAT you earned from walking by clicking the "claim" button within the Sweat Wallet app. The goal at Sweat Economy has always been to keep the community moving, and part of that goal involves taking ownership over the $SWEAT you earned.
If I don’t Claim within 30 days, what happens?
Based on a community vote in April 2024, walked-for $SWEAT that hasn’t been claimed for 30 days will start to be evaporated, or burned, in the order that it was minted. To avoid this, just log into your Wallet regularly and start claiming your $SWEAT.
Regarding your existing $SWEAT balance, don’t worry, this is already “claimed” and won’t be evaporated even if you don't claim on your new earnings. Evaporation will only occur on new earnings which are unclaimed.
What is evaporation?
Evaporation, or burning, is what happens to $SWEAT that hasn’t been claimed in more than 30 days.
Do I need $NEAR to Claim my $SWEAT?
No — you do not need $NEAR. In Sweat Wallet, gas fees are paid in $SWEAT (it works as a universal gas token). Claiming charges a small gas fee in $SWEAT, and you can watch a short rewarded ad to get a 100% discount on that fee. You can think of it like a processing fee — it's the cost of making blockchain transactions — but it never requires holding a separate gas token.
Where is my earned $SWEAT before I claim it, and why isn't it in my balance?
$SWEAT you earn (from walking, Spin the Wheel, Daily Flip, contests) is held in a secure account until you press Claim — it is not part of your Total balance yet. Your Total balance consists of Available (liquid) plus Staked (locked in Grow Jars) $SWEAT. Two things follow: rewards must be claimed before they can be transferred, and $SWEAT locked in Jars can't be spent until the Jar ends. The 30-day evaporation rule above is defined for walked-for (minted) $SWEAT — to be safe, claim all your earnings promptly rather than letting any of them sit unclaimed.
My $SWEAT was burned and I had no idea!
Starting April 13, 2024, we sent out multiple emails, pushes, in-app warnings, and recurring notifications to alert you before and during your $SWEAT evaporation process. To stay up to date, make sure you turn on notifications so you get notified whenever product changes take place.
