Login error: "Custom Issuer request failed (500)"

Last updated on Jul 16, 2026

When you sign in with Google or Apple and see "Custom Issuer request failed (500): Internal Server Error" (sometimes shown as a raw {"statusCode": 500 ... "/issuer/issue"} message), the social sign-in service failed to complete your login. This is usually a temporary backend or network issue — not something wrong with your wallet, and your funds are not affected.

Try these steps:

  1. Update Sweat Wallet to the latest version.
  2. Wait a few minutes and try again — many 500 errors are transient.
  3. Switch networks: Wi-Fi ↔ mobile data (and disable any VPN).
  4. On Android: clear the cache for both Sweat Wallet and Google Play Services (Settings → Apps → … → Storage → Clear cache), then retry.
  5. If your account predates social login (you originally logged in via the backup-code email), use that instead: find the newest "Important: SWEAT wallet backup code" email and log in through its link.

A word of caution

Don't try to work around this by signing in with a different Apple/Google account — a social account that was never linked to your wallet opens a new, empty wallet rather than your existing one.

If it keeps failing

If the error persists across different networks and a reasonable wait, it's a server-side problem on our end. Contact support with your device model, app version, and the email on your account — persistent issuer errors are escalated to the engineering team.
