Sweat Wallet and SWEAT as they exist today end on 30 December 2026. The app works until then and you keep earning. Everything you need to do, with screenshots, is at update.swe.at.
On 1 October 2026 The Sweat Foundation Ltd, the company behind the Sweat Wallet app and the SWEAT token, announced that Sweat Wallet and SWEAT in their present form will end on 30 December 2026. You have 90 days to secure your account and your assets.
Key dates
- 1 October 2026 — announcement. The app, the token and the smart contracts keep running as they do today.
- 12 October 2026 — account deletion from within the app became available (Profile → Delete account, app version 175.0 or later), and the minimum term on Grow Jars was removed for all jars.
- No later than 15 October 2026 — the private key backup in the app is made easier to find.
- 31 October 2026 — the Sweat NEAR validator (sweat_validator.poolv1.near) stops. If you have NEAR staked there, unstake or redelegate before then; unstaking takes several epochs.
- First week of December 2026 — the Foundation publishes at update.swe.at the changes and dates that apply from January 2027.
- 18 December 2026 — the date by which we recommend you have completed the steps below.
- 30 December 2026 — Sweat Wallet and SWEAT as they exist today end.
What to do before 30 December 2026
Do these five things. Each takes a few minutes. Screenshots for each step are at update.swe.at.
- Back up your private key and your NEAR account ID. In the app go to Profile → Security → View private key → Copy private key. Save it in a password manager or another secure place, together with your account ID (the name shown at the top of your wallet). Backing up the key does not change anything in the app: it means you hold the key outside the app and can control your account from any NEAR wallet that supports private key import (such as Meteor Wallet or HOT Wallet), even after Sweat Wallet is no longer available. View private key asks you to type your secret phrase and shows the key derived from it — so your secret phrase itself is also a complete backup (Meteor Wallet and HOT Wallet can import it directly). If you do not see View private key: the option appears only for wallets that have a secret phrase — tap Add secret phrase first (small gas fee; write the phrase down), and View private key then appears. If the app asks for a secret phrase you never created, you cannot export yet: keep your Apple or Google login, do not reset or delete the wallet, and wait — the backup is being made easier to find no later than 15 October 2026. Do not remove any magic keys (Apple/Google sign-in) or the secret phrase login methods — that can make the backed-up private key unusable.
- Claim your earned $SWEAT. Open the app and claim any unclaimed $SWEAT into your wallet.
- Withdraw from your Grow Jars when you choose. Jars keep working and earning during the window. Since 12 October there is no minimum term, so you can withdraw principal and yield at any time: in Grow, tap Empty All. Keep a few liquid $SWEAT for the network fee.
- Move balances on other chains. If you hold balances on Ethereum, Base, BSC or Arbitrum inside the app, move them to another wallet you control, swap them into NEAR-based tokens, or bridge them to your NEAR account, while the app is running. A technical route for after the app ends will be published at update.swe.at before 30 December.
- Optional, and the best protection: a seed phrase. If your wallet has no secret phrase yet, add one in Profile → Security → Add secret phrase (small gas fee) and write it down. You can use it to import your account into any NEAR wallet (such as Meteor Wallet or HOT Wallet) and confirm you have access to your funds. Do not remove any keys from your account.
What happens next
Until 30 December 2026 the app, the token and the smart contracts keep running as they do today. After 30 December 2026 the app and the services around it end in their present form. The SWEAT token continues to exist on NEAR and on the EVM chains where it is bridged, and can be held and transferred in any compatible wallet. $SWEAT left in Grow Jars will be transferred to the owner's NEAR account at some point after the window ends. The Foundation will publish at update.swe.at, in the first week of December 2026, the changes and dates that apply from January 2027.
